LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - If you were looking for a sign to put away those winter jackets, this is your sign.

Things are not looking to cool anytime soon as we’re expecting to reach some pretty high temperatures.

We are currently under a heat advisory that is taking effect from 2pm to 8 pm today.

We are expected to reach or be near a heat index of 110 which means there is an increase risk of heat stroke or heat exhaustion.

As always, drink plenty of water and stay hydrated!

Through the weekend we will see very similar temperatures through the rest of the week with temperatures between 102 through 104.

We’ll be looking for the magic from the skies next week to save us as there is a 20% chance on Monday and a 30% chance on Tuesday.
