Pick up truck crashes into BP unit in West Laredo

LAREDO, TX. (KGNS) - A federal agent and several undocumented people are taken to the hospital after a truck crashes into a Border Patrol unit.

The accident happened at the intersection of Jefferson and Flores at around 1:40 this morning.

According to Laredo Police, a Border Patrol agent was traveling east on Jefferson Street with detainees in the vehicle when a blue Ford F-150 disregarded a stop sign and crashed into the unit.

The agent and four undocumented immigrants were transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

The driver of the truck was a 34-year-old man who was taken to LMC for treatment and was later turned over to Border Patrol. He is expected to face a DWI charge for the accident.

Before the accident, the driver of the truck had crashed into four parked vehicles at the scene.
